Passion

Friday, September 4: What are you passionate about?

I've known some passionate people. The type that ooze passion with every breath. Sometimes I find them inspiring but other times they annoy me. Did I just say that? I tried to think of my passions. I even took a quiz or two. The results came back inconclusive. I do love cooking, traveling, sewing, reading, home improvement diy projects, gardening, painting, photography, art but I do not think I am passionate about one in particular. It's been months since I've painted anything. My garden this year was a mess of weeds. Passion is a special beast. Passion is all in. It consumes your thoughts, talk and actions. I was at a loss in identifying my passion. I wondered was I passionate-less?

L was much more generous in his estimation of me when I asked him what he thought was my passion. He said family. Look at how hard you have struggled to have a baby he said. Awe melt my heart. I think he might be right. See those who love us know us much better than we know yourself.

Oh the joys of taking injectable fertility medications in public bathrooms.

A Mood Board for this Blog

Thursday, September 3: Create a collage or inspiration/mood board that describes your blog.

My blog is about the places I have been that have captured my heart and imagination, the books I read, home projects and decor, my journey to having a baby, a little bit of odd observations, food, beautiful finds, my home and the adventures L and I take.

Here is the link up to the Blog-tember Challenge.

An Ideal Day

Blog-tember Challenge Day 2: Describe your ideal day. Where would you go and what would you do?

It's beginning to feel like fall. I was standing in my darkened kitchen the other morning thinking about snow and how sometimes the perfect morning is when you wake up to soft big flakes of snow falling, how peaceful it is, the house is cozy and you have nowhere to be. It is always even more lovely if the smell of cinnamon buns baking is beginning to waft in and your hands hug a latte in a great big mug. It is even more perfect if you are expecting guests from afar for brunch. The smiles, hugs, and laughter that will ensue as everyone gathers together.

After brunch is tobogganing on a hill, building a snowman, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and playing board games.  Spiced apple cider, japanese oranges, grapes, brie cheese, and crackers.

Dinner together out, dressing up before hand, the atmosphere classy and cozy, tucked away in the corner of a busy restaurant, savoring the evening together, laughing, telling stories, delighting in delicious flavors.

Tumbling into bed late into the night, snuggling into the covers, sleep coming easily.

Introductions:

I missed the first day of the challenge, September 1st, which was to introduce myself.  I thought about just following along and thinking this is a really great idea but then I realized that even though I just discovered the challenge that I really wanted to participate. That's me... I got an A in gym class for participation in grade 10 and not because I'm particularly athletic.

I was digging around in my photo bins today and what did I find but some oldie but goodies...

My name is Rhonda.

Even though the photos are circa 2007 I still can see me shining through these photos. That hesitant, hopeful smile. Those big brown eyes, warm and inviting. And that hair! I had style in 2007...or at least I like to think so.

I love possibilities and new experiences, but I'm also a sucker for family, and tradition.

I grew up with three brothers, on a farm, without TV. We had to improvise, use our imaginations, stick together. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, or pitch in and help where needed. I love this classic smile that both my brother and I are sporting in these photos. Easter egg hunts are just so much fun!!

I might not be the best advice giver but I am sympathetic and concerned for others well being. I love other people's stories. I genuinely like most everyone.

I dislike structure and routine. I like to go with the flow, improvise, and learn by doing.

Part of the fun is not knowing how something is going to turn out and what you will have to jimmy together to make it work.

I love celebrations, parties, holidays. I like to have fun. I love to laugh.

Circa 2007 I did not have any pictures of L. You will hear often about L if you stick around and read this blog. We found each other on the world wide web in 2010 and had a whirlwind romance. He is my main squeeze. We are expecting a baby in January and are very excited.
